It goes without saying that Cobra Kai is a product and sequel to the Karate Kid Films, particularly I (1984) and III (1989).

But what has become part of the Cobra Kai mythos is Sensei Johnny Lawrence, founder and former head instructor of the resurrected Cobra Kai school and founder and current head instructor of Eagle Fang Karate, being a huge fan of Bloodsport (1988)! As noted in the graphic above, having searched for it online he [Johnny] first gets a laptop with internet, not only that, but the address of Cobra Kai is none other than the location of Grandmaster Frank Dux’s first academy!

Then in episode ??? of Season 4 it is mentioned that Robby Keene found a VHS copy of Bloodpsport having that has something to remember has Dad [Johnny] who split from his Mom and the kids go see Frank Dux’s Bloodsport at a local driven showing in the show some of the best fight scenes from the film with the kids going wild (???)!

In addition, with Cobra Kai being almost a parody of 80’s movies we can see some of Frank Dux’s Bloodsport apparent influence within the show!
